Summary
Hard of hearing (deaf in the years before modern hearing aids). First woman to graduate with a doctorate from the veterinary school at the University of Pennyslvania, about 1940, but did not practice veterinary medicine because of her communication difficulties, instead doing research in veterinary medicine. Also bred and exhibited Dandie Dimont terriers. After retiring from medical research became a judge of purebred dogs in thousands of dog shows across the country, including managing two of the largest dog shows in the country.
