Summary
Deafened by anoxia at birth. Attended the Titirangi School for the Deaf ages 2 1/2 until transferring to Kelston School for the Deaf in 1958. She also went to an oral school for the deaf in Singapore, then at age 12 was mainstreamed in regular NZ schools until almost 17, then took a drafting course at Auckland Institute of Technology. Worked as a draftsperson at the Auckland Regional Council for 23 years until laid off. Active in deaf events, including serving as president of the New Zealand Deaf Association.
