Summary
A member of the first class (1855) in what is now the Iowa School for the Deaf. Born in Indiana; family moved to Iowa and she attended the Iowa school 1855-1857. Married a deaf German immigrant, William Stockdick. They lived in Rock Island, IL before relocating to a farm near Rome, IA, but he abandoned his family in 1867. Nothing else is known of Mary and her two sons after that. Her brother, Eastman Lee (q.v.), was also deaf.
