Summary
Born deaf at Los Angeles, CA; attended both California Schools for the Deaf; at age 15, was a special art student at the University of Southern California for four years, graduating 1946; later studied at the Jasper Art Institute. After a 2-year struggle with alcoholism, was represented in the 1960 Young America USA exhibit at the Whitney Museum of American Art and went on to win acclaim and exhibitions in major art museums across the U.S.
