Hard of hearing since infancy and with mild cerebral palsy. In early childhood, was placed in a school for the mentally retarded for 2 years until her deafness was finally recognized. Later was in 2 automobile accidents, the first of which required facial surgery and the second of which forced her in and out of wheelchairs for 2 years. Then she was a cancer patient for another 2 years. Became a stand-up comedienne at age 36; appeared in Nobody is Burning Wheelchairs, a 1991 videotape produced by the National Easter Seal Society; guest appearance on TV series The Facts of Life; resident of Los Angeles.
