Summary
Hearing. A Catholic priest who was a disciple of the oral-teaching methods of Konrad Ammann (q.v.). He also studied, but soon rejected, the manual methods of the abbe de l'Epee (q.v.). Opened a small private school for the deaf in Orleans, charging tuition when the pupils could afford it but also accepting poor pupils who could not afford to pay.
