Summary
Born at Chihuahua, Mexico; his family moved to Arizona. Attended Arizona School for the Deaf, 1939; became a student at Huachuca State Teachers College (Mexico). Played on the Mexican national basketball team in the 1948 Olympic games, the first deaf person to play in a team sport at the Olympics. He led the Los Angeles Club of the Deaf basketball team to the AAAD national championship in 1946; was offered a professional basketball contract by the Harlem Globetrotters, but did not accept it. Inducted into the AAAD Hall of Fame in 1970.
