Summary
Progressive deafness started at age 3 or 4, near total by age 6, from unknown causes. Played "Abby", a deaf hospital administrator, on the CBS TV soap opera Guiding Light, 1995-2000; nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1998 but did not win, though she did win the 1998 Daytime Webby Award. Received a cochlear implant in January 1999; shortly afterward, her TV character "Abby" received one also.
