Summary
Born deaf at Corner Brook, NF; graduated the Newfoundland School for the Deaf. While in the NF School she was active in Army Cadets. Entered Atlantic Technological Vocational Centre to take carpentry courses; when ATVC closed in 1995, transferred to Nova Scotia Community College and earned a certificate in woodworking. Finding woodworking jobs scarce, she eventually became an operator of embroidery equipment. Married deaf man Timothy Coldwell.
