Summary
Born at Chicago; deafened from meningitis at age 4. Attended various private schools and graduated Shimer College, Mt. Carroll, IL with a B.A. in 1969. M.S. (1971) and Ph.D. (1977), both in mathematics, from the University of Chicago. Taught mathematics at Indiana University and at Rutgers University, then at Howard University, Washington, DC, since 1984. Has published in mathematics journals and been associate editor of one.
