Born deaf at Vancouver, BC; preschool training at home by correspondence course from the John Tracy Clinic, then Jericho Hill School for the Deaf age 5-9, then public schools without support services and with difficulties until graduation 1978. Clerk-typist for the City of Vancouver 1978-1992, then entered an A.A. degree program at Seattle Central Community College for 3 years. Additional certificates in mental health work and community support work from Canadian community colleges. 1993-1996, a respite caregiver, then from 1996 onward a community support worker for the Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre in Victoria and Nanaimo, BC.
