Spindler, Erwin

Deafened at age 5; studied for 7 years at art academies in Dresden and Munich; later lived in Leipzig. Specialized in landscapes; is considered part of the German Late Romantic movement; many of his watercolor works were reproduced as popular postcards. A collection of his known surviving work is Erwin Spindler 1860-1926: Werkverzeichnis (1999).
