Summary
Born at St. Paul, MN; deaf at age 4 from unknown causes. Attended the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California schools for the deaf. B.A. (1914) and M.A. (1915) from Gallaudet College; taught at the St. John (New Brunswick), Florida, and Kendall Schools for the deaf, the latter for 23 years. In addition to being librarian, she taught gymnastics, Latin, and business. Was the second deaf librarian (1919) at Gallaudet College, and the last deaf Gallaudet library director from her death to the present day. Founded the Gallaudet College Hall of Fame. Cancer forced her to leave her job, and she died a month later in Nevada City, NV.
