Summary
Born deaf; attended two hearing schools before entering the Jericho Hill Provincial School for the Deaf 1973-1980. Worked as a carpenter and caretaker. Regularly averaging 23 km/14.3 miles a day walking around his town, he decided to call attention to the needs of deaf Canadians by launching a "Silent Walk" across the country, Alberta to Newfoundland and back again. He completed this double walk totaling 9,917.7 km in just over 9 months.
