Summary
Born at Bowling Green, Kentucky and deafened in infancy from measles. Kentucky School for the Deaf 1917-graduation 1931. At a deaf event in Detroit, MI, she met Edward Thomas Payne (q.v.), Canada's first deaf pilot. He wooed her with flights, and they married on June 4, 1932. They settled in South Walkerville (now South Windsor), ON for many years, and she raised a family as a stay-at-home mother. After her husband's death in 1973, she moved to Alberta for the next 28 years.
