Hearing. Daughter of Thomas Braidwood (I) (q.v.); married John Braidwood (II) in a first-cousin marriage. They had three children, Elizabeth Braidwood (q.v.), John Braidwood (III) (q.v.), and Thomas Braidwood (II) (q.v.), all involved with deaf education. After her husband's death, Isabella and daughter Elizabeth established a boarding school for born-deaf children in Birmingham, England until her death; it was continued by Elizabeth and Thomas (II).
