Temmermans, Anna

Born blind at Ostend and then became deaf in early infancy. Orphaned at a young age, she was taken in by an impoverished grandmother. At age 20, was taken in and educated under the direction of Abbe Carton at the Institution for the Deaf and Dumb and the Blind at Bruges, Belgium.
