Bell, Charlotte Helen Jameson "Lottie"

Born deaf at Tara, ON; attended the Manitoba Institution for the Deaf 1893-graduation in 1905; the first deaf female Manitoban to attend Gallaudet College, 1906-1909, though she did not finish there. Married an American, Walter Dake Bell, also deaf and a Gallaudet graduate. After 6 years in Alabama, the couple moved to Canada for the rest of their lives. Active in local deaf organizations and advocacy.
