Ying Li

Born hearing in Dalian, China; deaf at age 1 from ear infections and fever. Hearing schools to age 8, then transferred to a deaf day school. Completed high school at age 18 and entered Liaoning Normal School for Special Education for 4 years, then enrolled at Liaoning Normal University for 4 more years. Came to the U.S. and Gallaudet University 1999-2001 to earn an M.A. degree. Planned to return to China to teach there.
