Summary
Born deaf near Wroclaw, Poland. Attended a Polish school for the deaf 1958-1965 and a vocational school 1965-1968. Married Kazio Lapiak in 1968 and worked both on a farm and in a shoe factory for 6 months before quitting and becoming a bookbinder, which she did 1969-1980. Serious unrest in Poland led to the family emigrating to Austria, then Canada in 1980-1981. Worked in an Edmonton, AB book bindery 1981 onward. Deaf daughter is Jolanta Agnieszka Lapiak (q.v.).
