Summary
Deafened at age 13 from mumps; graduated the Kentucky School for the Deaf in 1937 and Gallaudet College in 1942. Star of the Gallaudet track team; later coached track at Gallaudet 1963-1965, after he had become an instructor of printing beginning 1960 and eventually director of the Gallaudet print shop before retirement in 1985. Active in Gallaudet alumni affairs, the Maryland Association of the Deaf, and the Lions Club. Married to deaf woman Barbara Myer "Babs" Stevens (q.v.). Died at Baltimore from a ruptured aortic aneurysm.
