Summary
Born at Copenhagen; emigrated to the U.S. at age 5; deafened at age 14 by a fall. Graduated from the Minnesota School for the Deaf; B.A. (1922) and honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters (1963) from Gallaudet College. English teacher and athletic director at the Minnesota School, 1922-1962. Also invented an athletic schedule book that became very popular at schools and colleges across the country; he later added special scorebooks for various sports.
