Summary
First Canadian student to attend the Kendall School for the Deaf (1881). Native of Shediac, BC; deaf at 7 months from scarlet fever. Early education at the Institution for the Deaf and Dumb in Halifax, NS (1873-1879) and the Ontario Institution for the Education and Instruction of the Deaf and Dumb, Belleville (1879-1881) before entering Kendall; was forced to leave Kendall in June 1882 due to ill health. Became a successful photographer in Halifax.
