Summary
Native of St. John's, NL and deaf at age 3 from illness. Graduated the Newfoundland School for the Deaf, then attended Prince of Wales College for 2 years. 1979-1980, took cartography and photogrammetry courses, and later in 1989 took a business English diploma from Avalon Community College. Various jobs included office duties, drafting and updating maps, file and mail clerk in a government agency, assistant draftsperson in a forestry research center, and a records control clerk. In her youth, she was a medal-winning figure skater and in adulthood was involved with an adult precision skating team.
