Summary
Late-deafened. M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania; practiced pediatrics in New York and taught at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Became deaf at age 35 from an operation for hearing nerve tumors. Edited the book Deafness in Infancy and Early Childhood (1974). Served as staff physician at Gallaudet College for a few years until his early death after a long and difficult illness. Gallaudet University's infirmary is named in his honor.
