Summary
Born deaf at Vancouver, BC; Jericho Hill School for the Deaf 1957-1969. Keypunch operator and other data processing jobs for Canadian Pacific Airlines 1969-1990. Became program technician for Douglas College Program of Sign Language Interpretation and also did freelance interpreting, eventually earning a diploma as an ASL to English interpreter. Heavily involved in Canadian sign interpreting workshops, conferences, and consulting. Author of the guidebook for the popular Signing Naturally ASL instructional videotapes. Married to Bruce Jickels, also deaf.
