Summary
Born in Richland Co., Ohio; deaf at age 5 from spotted fever. Attended the Ohio School for the deaf 1875-1884 and graduated Gallaudet College in 1889. Appointed a teacher in the Ohio School for 2 years, then resigned to pursue printing, eventually coming back to the Ohio School in 1893 as instructor of printing.
