Graduated Indiana School for the Deaf in 1972; attended California State University, Northridge, for 2 years, then graduated from the University of Nebraska (1986). M.Ed. (1987) from Western Maryland College; in 1998, was a Ph.D. student at the University of Arizona. Jobs included teacher, interpreter trainer, principal, author, and teacher trainer.
