Summary
Born deaf and grew up on a small farm near Joseph, OR; graduated the Oregon School for the Deaf in the 1930s. Worked on a ranch, then for a Portland furniture manufacturing company. Married Margie McDaniel, also deaf, in 1942. Lost his house in 1958 to a fire, and bought another house that was only a shell, he and his wife building and installing a complete interior over the years.
