Graduated Gallaudet College in 1968, then went to work for the government as a chemist. In the 1970s, when he was passed over for a promotion, decided to start a new career as a financial planner. Ran his own financial consulting business, Schwarz Financial Concepts, in Silver Spring, MD, for many years.
