Born deaf at Oskaloosa, KS; graduated the Kansas School for the deaf, 1895. Pitcher for the New York Giants for 9 seasons; 113-109 career mark, best season mark 22-15 (1904). Boys' supervisor and athletic coach at the Kansas School 1914-1923 and at the Iowa School for the Deaf 1923-1932; retired to Jacksonville, IL; died of a heart attack.
