Head of REGEDE (Reichs Gehoerlosenbund Deutschlands, the Reich Union of the Deaf of Germany). REGEDE, originally an independent social organization of deaf Germans founded in 1927, was involuntarily made a part of the Nazi government in 1933. In 1937, Albreghs made every REGEDE member an mandatory member of the Nazi Party, and vigorously enforced Nazi ideals and rules, even turning in fellow deaf people to the Nazi authorities for sterilization.
