Schory, Albert H.

Born at Minerva, OH, deafened in infancy. Into Ohio School for the Deaf at age 10, graduating 1876, and to Gallaudet College, graduating 1881. Initial plans to become a "steno-telegrapher" for the Associated Press changed when he was offered, and accepted, a teaching position in the Ohio School, which he held from 1881 for at least 17 years.
