Summary
First deaf professional Spanish and Mexican dancer. Deafened at age 2 by whooping cough. Grew up in Tucson, AZ and attended the Arizona School for the Deaf, and also studied at the Cusick Dancing School in AZ; she and her dancing partner, Jose Cota, performed first in Tucson, later in San Francisco, then made USO tours during World War II, raising money for the sale of war bonds. Married Charles Corey (q.v.) Daughter is Rita Corey (q.v.).
