Born deaf at Riviere-du-Loup, QC. Attended various mainstream public schools in Quebec, and ages 14-18 went to the Institute for Deaf Women in Montreal. Worked over 31 years as a customer services representative for Reader's Digest in Montreal, 1964 until laid off in 1996. Married to Jacques Daigenault, deaf.
