Born deaf at Eckemforde, Germany; attended the Stattlichen Internatsschule fur Horgeschadigte in Schleswig 1970-1980, then the Wirtschaftsschule fur Horgeschadigte in Heidelberg 1980-1983. Went to an electronics school 1983-1987 and went to work for a telephone company. Suspended work 1995-2000 to raise two children, getting into art as a hobby in the meantime, winning notices and awards for his work. Entered a graphics design school in 2003.
