Blunden, Melba "Mel"

Born deaf at Glace Bay, Cape Breton Island, NS; attended day classes for the deaf until grade 6, when she transferred to regular public schools through high school, graduating 1987. Took off a few years before entering St. Mary's University, Halifax, NS and graduating 1996. 2000-2002, took a Screen Arts Program at Nova Scotia Community College with the goal of becoming a videographer.
