Summary
Born deaf at Tilton, NL; Halifax School for the Deaf 1898-1907. Worked for a time at a Nova Scotia chocolate factory, then for a Vancouver, BC laundry company. Was a co-founder of a small school for the deaf in Vancouver, BC in 1915; the same year, she married Albert Thomas Elliott, a deaf bookbinder. He died in 1962, aged 91, and she lived to be 105 years old. A building at the British Columbia Provincial School for the Deaf is named in her honor.
