Buchanan, Beverly Josephine

Born deaf at Halifax, NS; attended regular schools in Halifax and graduated high school from Armbrae Academy. BA from Gallaudet University and MA from Western Maryland College. Worked at various Gallaudet positions and in a Thai school for the deaf. Spent a year in a Gallaudet Ph.D. program but switched her doctoral studies to Texas Tech University when she became dean of students at Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf.
