Summary
Deafened in one ear at age 14 by meningitis, in the other by age 17. Plans to go into nursing were changed to writing, and she majored in English at Purdue University, studying part-time and graduating in 1976. First novel was The Palace of the Princess, under her real name, and she planned more writing under the pen name of Virginia Scott. Earned a master's degree ca. 1980 and became a librarian in Washington State.
