Egger, Marian Alma Medland Birley

Born as Marian Alma Medland at Dunrea, MB; deafness diagnosed at age 2. Manitoba and Saskatchewan Schools for the Deaf, graduating the latter in 1945. Became a hairdresser, soon entering a hairdressing business partnership. Married her first deaf husband Bill Birley and had 2 sons. Second husband, Ralph Egger, was also deaf, and with him she farmed at Lake Lenore, SK before they retired to Humboldt, SK.
