Supposedly born deaf. Her mother Constance and other family and friends prayed to the Blessed Katharine Drexel (q.v.) starting when Amy was 2. Obtaining a relic of Drexel, they touched it to Amy's ears; when she was 4 (about 1997), she was suddenly able to hear, attributed to miraculous intervention by Drexel, who had died in 1955.
