Summary
Born at Vicksburg, MS and deafened in early childhood. Moved with his family to St. Louis in 1879, entering the state school for the deaf at Fulton, MO 1882-1887, leaving to move to Denver, CO. Went to the Colorado School for the deaf 1887-1892, then to Gallaudet College where he graduated. Taught at the Colorado School 1897-1899, then went into printing for himself.
