              Summary
Born deaf, the last of 4 sons; the second son, John Gaudy (q.v.) was also deaf. Privately tutored at home, probably by John Cressener, then went on to study art under Sir Peter Lely. Struck by a bad case of smallpox while still in the art school, Framlingham retreated into the family home and died young, at age 31, after a long illness. None of his art work is known to survive. His will is the first known will to have been provably written by the deaf person himself.
