Summary
Late-deafened; hard of hearing. Born to an itinerant salesman; mild deafness discovered in first grade. Attended public schools, but left home at age 17 to pursue an acting career. BFA from U.S. International University School of Performaing Arts (San Diego, CA) and MFA from University of California, Los Angeles. Instructed in movement for actors at Pepperdine University. Surgery in the early 1980s to remove a tunor from her right temporal/mastoid left her deaf. Continued to act in both stage and television; one of the last Warner Brothers "contract" actors. During the 1990s, began to retreat from acting and turned to sculpture. Her works often reflect her performing background, and have been in exhibitions.
