Summary
Born at Gosbeck, Suffolk and deafened in childhood. Attended the Brighton Institution for Deaf and Dumb Children 1843-1851, then became an assistant master there at the age of 17. Stricken ill with a brain inflammation, he died young in Kemp Town, aged only 27; buried in Brighton.
