Summary
Grew up in Chelsea, MA; mostly attended local public schools, though he did spend a year at the Vermont School for the Deaf. Upon graduation, went to the Rochester Institute of Technology for a time, then transferred to the University of Massachusetts, graduating with an education degree with a media technology focus. Set up and ran a media center at the Beverly School for the Deaf, then taught at the Model Secondary School for the Deaf before becoming a faculty member in the education department at Gallaudet University, eventually becoming director of the Gallaudet Leadership Institute.
