Bowman, Monique Denise Marie Charlebois

Born deaf at Shellbrook, SK, but not diagnosed until age 2. Saskatchewan School for the Deaf 1962-graduation 1975; hired by Canada Post first temporarily then full-time permanent. Twice applied to become a mail carrier but was turned down; a 4-year effort of appeals finally made her possibly Canada's first deaf mail carrier in 1980. Married Glenn Bowman, also deaf, in 1982.
