Born at Havana; deafened at age 6 by whooping cough; attended the Wright Oral School (New York City); graduated Blair Academy (Delaware Water Gap), 1920; attended Columbia University and Lafayette College (Eastor, PA). Acted in silent films as "Tommy Albert", 1926-1928; in New York, had several professions including starting the vibrating alarm business. Pioneered captioned films for the deaf by splicing caption frames into films after Hollywood converted to sound films. Moved to Colorado in 1972. Cousin of noted film producer Cesar Romero.
