Summary
Born deaf to deaf parents in Glasgow and attended Donaldson's Hospital School, Edinburgh; later became first president of the Donaldson's alumni association. Worked as a carpenter and active in deaf sports, especially soccer. In late life during the 1970s, participated in linguistic research into British Sign Language. His brother Robert Menzies Scott (q.v.) was also deaf.
